Announcing a lecture series at Boston College: 6 public lectures during the fall semester on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month (except for holidays) at 7 PM on the theme of "Love Across Difference." The first lecture will be held on September 13, 2011, and will deal with the differences of age and sex around which family life is built. MCB participates in a number of professional organizations and advisory groups that meet on a fairly regular basis in various locations. These include:
The National Center for Atmospheric Research Advisory Council, which meets in Boulder CO, usually in the spring and fall.
The American Anthropological Assn., which meets annually in December, alternating east and west coasts.
The Lindisfarne Assn., which meets in summer, this year in western Massachusetts.
The National Science Foundation Advisory Committee for Environmental Research and Education (AC-ERE), which meets in Washington DC, fall and spring (3 yr. term).
The Hoffmann Seminar on Life Histories and Case Histories, sponsored by the Harvard Medical School, a study group that meets weekly in Cambridge during the academic year, which she attends approximately once a month, depending on the program.
